The background

From the first, let me making it clear that I am not writing to express self-pity or victimization. I am not writing to tell a story, or even because I have a story to tell. I am writing because I wish to learn how to write, and a blog seems the least daunting of the many ways to start this process.

A little background: I am 29 and live in Charlotte, NC. NO husband, no children. I am pursuing a degree in nursing, something which is relatively new to me. I enjoying cooking, eating, and yoga, but after the success of Julie et Julia and Eat, Pray, Love it seems a bit naff to write about those subjects, however, they may crop up a bit.

I moved here about a year ago from CT, where I lived after moving to Manhattan. My folks are from Oregon, which is where I lived until I was 19. I have worked for 11 years as a nanny, a job that I love when I work for sane parents, and hate the rest of the time.

A few years ago, I realized that I was totally unhappy with myself and my life. This blog will often be written in the past tense, as I am attempting to organize my thoughts and chronicle my "transformation" into the person I am today: a whole, healthy, and happy human being.

And so we begin.
